Abstract: C-H activation has emerged as one of the innovative tool in organic synthesis for the construction of C-C bonds. Recently oxidative C-H activation has largely employed stoichiometric amount of expensive and toxic metal oxidants, compromising the overall sustainable nature of C-H activation chemistry. On the other hand, electrochemical C-H activation has been identified as a more efficient strategy that exploits storable electricity in place of by-product generating chemical reagents. In this presentation, the importance of electrocatalytic C-H activation highlighting the recent developments will be discussed.
