ABSTRACT: Synthesis of complex molecule from a simple starting material is a key challenge in synthesis. Enantioselective radical cyclization cascade have potential to deliver complex, densely packed polycyclic architecture with the control of 3D shape in one step. But due to high reactivity of radicals, their enantioselectivity remains challenging and this report demonstrates the enantioselective SmI2 mediated radical cyclization and cascade cyclization by simple , recyclable, chiral ligand which can transform symmetrical ketoester to complex carbocyclic product bearing multiple stereo centres. A computational study has also been used to probe the origin of enantioselectivity.
